Hon. M.S. Uthumalebbe,— To ask the Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development,— (1)
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the project to construct a bridge across the Bryanthurai Kandam river in the Pottuvil Divisional Secretariat Division of the Ampara District as well as the project to construct the Heda Oya Bridge were initiated by the previous government; and
(ii) construction work of the projects of constructing those bridges has been stopped halfway by now ?
(b) Will he inform this House whether steps—
(i) have been taken to resume the construction work of the aforesaid two bridges;
(ii) will be taken to include the projects of constructing the aforesaid two bridges in the Special Development Programme?
(c) If not, why?
