Hon. Sivagnanam Shritharan,—To ask the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development,— (2)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that the building which houses the Sathosa store in the center of Kilinochchi town was constructed without a proper approval;
(ii) whether relevant approval for the construction has been duly obtained from the Karaichchi Pradeshiya Sabha;
(iii) of the details of the quotations called for it, if the public funds have been spent on the construction of the building;
(iv) of the amount spent on the construction, in millions of rupees; and
(v) of the current owner of the aforesaid building?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) of the institution that owns the land on which the building is located; and
(ii) whether the land concerned has been given to any party on long-term lease basis?
(c) If not, why?
