Hon. Sunil Rathnasiri,— To ask the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether the then Ministry of Trade has invested money in the establishment of the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT);
(ii) if so, of the amount of money that has thus been invested;
(iii) of the number of students studying in the institution concerned at present;
(iv) of the number of students who studied in the institution in each of the years from the years 2020 to 2024 separately;
(v) if there is any decline in that institution at present, of the steps that have been taken to prevent it; and
(vi) of the legal action that has been taken against the management of that institution, who is responsible for bringing that institution down to a loss-making position?
(b) If not, why?
