Hon. Ravindra Bandara,— To ask the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the value of the currency that were printed/minted since the year 2015 up to the date of the Presedential Election of Sri Lanka held in the year 2024, separately in respect of each year in rupees;
(ii) of the value of the currency that were printed/minted corresponding to the tenure of each Minister of Finance during the period referred to above, separately in rupees;
(iii) of the value of the currency that were printed/minted corresponding to the term of each President during the same period, separately in rupees
(iv) whether currency were printed/minted without control during any span of time within the period concerned; and
(v) of the potential adverse effects of printing money without control?
(b) If not, why?
