Hon. (Mrs.) Chamindranee Kiriella, Attorney at Law,— To ask the Minister of Health and Mass Media,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he acknowledges that Public Health Midwives provide a great service to the health sector in Sri Lanka;
(ii) of the number of vacancies that exist in the post of Public Health Midwife at present;
(iii) whether steps will be taken to fill the said vacancies; and
(iv) of the steps that will be taken to improve the facilities provided to the Public Health Midwives?
(b) If not, why?
