Hon. Susantha Kumara Nawarathna,— To ask the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development,— (1)
(a) Will he state of the —
(i) number of limited-liability multi-purpose cooperative societies, cooperative bank societies, and branches of the said Banks in the Anuradhapura District registered with the Department of Cooperative Development of the North Central Province, separately; and
(ii) methodology that has been followed in establishing the cooperative societies and cooperative bank societies concerned?
(b) Will he also state —
(i) whether he is aware that there are two Societies named Saubhagya Cooperative Bank Ltd (SCD) of the North Central Province and Anuradhapura District Rural Capital Development Cooperative Society Ltd (RCD);
(ii) if so, separately, of the date of commencement, registration number, and address of each of the Societies;
(iii) of the current owners of the addresses referred to above;
(iv) whether the primary, secondary, and tertiary composition and methodology have been followed in establishing the Societies concerned;
(v) if not, of the methodology that has been followed;
(vi) whether the approval of the Cooperative Employees Commission of the North Central Province has been obtained when recruiting employees to the Societies concerned; and
(vii) if not, of the methodology that has been followed in recruiting them?
(c) If not, why?
