Hon. (Dr.) Kavinda Heshan Jayawardhana,— To ask the Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that an incident of fish death was reported recently in the Beira Lake in Colombo;
(ii) of the findings in the report of the expert committee appointed to investigate the said incident; and
(iii) since the water not only in the Beira Lake but also in many other reservoirs in Sri Lanka has become extremely polluted, of the steps that will be taken to control this situation?
(b) If not, why?
