Hon. Danushka Ranganath,— To ask the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the total number of Aswesuma beneficiaries in the Kalutara District;
(ii) of the aforesaid number of beneficiaries in terms of the Aswesuma beneficiary categorization, separately;
(iii) of the number of Aswesuma beneficiaries in each of the constituencies of the Kalutara District separately;
(iv) whether he is aware of the families residing in the Agalawatta Electorate who deserve the Aswesuma benefit, but have not received it yet; and
(v) whether some relief programme will be implemented in future for them?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether there is a standard criterion for selecting low-income earners;
(ii) whether he is satisfied with the methodology that has been adopted in selecting the Aswesuma beneficiaries; and
(iii) if not, of the reasons for it?
(c) If not, why?
