Hon. Sajith Premadasa,— To ask the Minister of Transport,—
(a) Will he inform this House separately of—
(i) the number of train accidents that have occurred;
(ii) the number of persons that died as a result of those accidents; and
(iii) the number of persons injured;
at unguarded level crossings with no barriers in each of the years during the period from the year 2010 to 2012 ?
(b) Will he state—
(i) whether a special compensation scheme will be implemented for those who are affected by the accidents that occur due to unguarded level crossings ; and
(ii) if so, what that compensation system is ?
(c) If not, why ?
