Hon. Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam,— To ask the Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply,— (1)
(a) Is he aware that the —
(i) drinking water facilities have not yet been provided to areas such as Panai Aruppan, Pan Senai, Vadakkal Madu, Pawatkodi Senai, Unnichchai and Nediyamadhu, in Vavunathivu Divisional Secretariat Division within the Manmunai West of the Batticaloa District; and
(ii) residents of the Unnichchai area have not been provided with drinking water, although drinking water has been taken from Unnichchai to various areas?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) if so, whether the steps will be taken to provide drinking water facilities to the areas mentioned in (i) above; and
(ii) of the dates when the drinking water facilities will be made available to the aforesaid areas?
(c) If not, why?
