Hon. Rohana Bandara,— To ask the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of existing vacancies in the Sri Lanka Police at present for each position, separately;
(ii) whether he is aware that the promotion process in the Sri Lanka Police is processing slowly;
(iii) of the steps that will be taken to expedite the promotion process; and
(iv) of the steps that will be taken to increase the salaries and improve the welfare facilities of Police officers?
(b) If not, why?
