Hon. Nalin Bandara Jayamaha,—To ask the Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) number of state-owned sugar companies in Sri Lanka;
(ii) names of the factories referred to above;
(iii) quantity of sugar imported to Sri Lanka from the year 2022 up to now and the amount of money spent on the imports each year, separately;
(iv) quantities of unsold sugar and Ethanol found accumulated in the state-owned sugar factories, separately; and
(v) measures that will be taken to increase the sugar production in Sri Lanka?
(b) If not, why?
