Hon. Shanakiyan Rajaputhiran Rasamanickam,—To ask the Minister of Urban Development, Construction and Housing,— (1)
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) a housing scheme consisting of more than 50 housing units was launched in Vavunathivu within the Manmuni-West Divisional Secretariat Division in Batticaloa during the previous good governance government;
(ii) the construction of some houses has been completed, but the construction of some other houses has not been completed; and
(iii) the governments that came into power subsequently neither restored those houses nor handed them over to the people;
(iv) the people in those areas have been facing various hardships for more than eight years accordingly?
(b) If so, will he inform this House—
(i) whether action will be taken to fully complete this housing scheme; and
(ii) of the timeframe within which it will be completed?
(c) If not, why?
