Hon. Chaminda Wijesiri,—To ask the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that an widespread dialogue took place in the society recently regarding the garlic fraud;
(ii) whether an investigation has been conducted regarding the fraud concerned;
(iii) if so, what its details are;
(iv) of the names of persons and institutions involved in the fraud;
(v) of the loss caused by the fraud; and
(vi) of the measures that have been taken so far and what future measures are going to be taken regarding the fraud, separately?
(b) If not, why?
