Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara,— To ask the Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) whether a programme named “Sri Lanka Development Service” will be implemented for providing job opportunities in the public sector;
(ii) if so, the minimum qualifications of the applicants who will be recruited under the aforesaid programme;
(iii) whether they will be given permanent and pensionable posts;
(iv) the procedure that will be followed in relation to the aforesaid recruitment;
(v) the basic salary and other allowances that will be paid to persons so recruited;
(vi) the duties that will be assigned to them;
(vii) the number of persons who will be recruited under the aforesaid programme; and
(viii) reasons for making recruitments to the aforesaid service despite the fact that there are a large number of vacancies in the public sector that have not been filled?
(b) If not, why?
