Hon. (Mrs.) Anoma Gamage,— To ask the Minister of External Affairs,—
(a) Will he state separately on per grade basis, the number of approved cadre positions in the Sri Lanka Foreign Service ?
(b) Will he also state—
(i) the number of officers in the Sri Lanka Foreign Service who have entered into the Service after having succeeded at the competitive examinations;
(ii) the number of government officers who have been recruited for the embassies external to the Sri Lanka Foreign Service; and
(iii) the number of other officers who are not in permanent Public Service, serving in the Sri Lankan embassies;
by now ?
(c) Will he inform this House—
(i) separately of the names, designations and the years of recruitment of the officers enquired about in (b) (ii) and (iii) above; and
(ii) of the procedure adopted when recruiting officers for the embassy service, external to the Sri Lanka Foreign Service ?
(d) If not, why ?
