Hon. Uddika Premarathne,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of national schools have so far been established in Sri Lanka;
(ii) whether the program to establish 1000 national schools is still being implemented; and
(iii) If not, why?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) of the year in which the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination was introduced; and
(ii) of the purpose of introducing the said examination?
(c) Will he further inform this House—
(i) whether it is accepted that there is a need for a change in the existing system of education; and
if so, of the changes that would be so re
