2367/2012: SRILANKAN AIRLINES : PURCHASE OF AIRCRAFT

Hon. Sajith Premadasa,— To ask the Minister of Civil Aviation,—

(a) Will he inform this House—

(i) whether new aircrafts would be purchased for the fleet of the Sri Lankan Airlines Ltd.;

(ii) if so, whether tenders have been called for the aforesaid purpose;

(iii) if not, whether action would be taken to acquire aircrafts through an alternative means;

(iv) if aircrafts are to be purchased, the total amount of money that would be spent for that purpose;

(v) of the manner in which the money required for the aforesaid purchase will be obtained; and

(vi) whether a technical assessment committee would be appointed with regard to purchasing of aircrafts ?

(b) Will he state—

(i) whether the slots allocated to Sri Lankan Airlines at Heathrow Airport in London are expected to be leased out or sold;

(ii) the profit earned or the loss incurred by Sri Lankan Catering from the date on which Sri Lankan Airlines Ltd., was taken over from Emirates Airline Company;

(iii) the names of the members of the Board of Directors of Sri Lankan Airlines ; and

(iv) whether the attention of the government has been drawn to alternative courses of action to run the aforesaid business without provisions being released by the government ?

ගරු නියෝජ්‍ය කථානායකතුමනි, එම ප්‍රශ්නයට පිළිතුර මෙසේයි.

(අ) (i) ඔව්.

(ii) මෙම කාර්යය සඳහා ව්‍යාපාරික යෝජනා කැඳවීම ආරම්භ කර ඇත.

(iii) අදාළ නැත.

(iv) ගුවන්යානා මිලදී ගැනීම සඳහා වැය වන මුදල නිශ්චිතව දැන ගැනීමට හැකි වන්නේ ඉදිරිපත් වන යෝජනා ඇගැයීම (evaluation) හා ගුවන්යානා නිපැයුම්කරුවන් සමඟ සිදු කරනු ලබන සාකච්ඡා (negotiations) සම්පූර්ණ කිරීමෙන් පසුවය. ඒ නිසා අපට දැන් ගණනක් කියන්න බැහැ.

(v) ශ්‍රී ලංකා රජය විසින් යොදන කොටස් ඇපකර, මූල්‍ය ආයතන හරහා ලබා ගත්නා ණය මූල්‍යකරණ හා ගුවන්යානා කල්බදුකරුවන් ලබා දෙන මුල්‍යකරණ මගින්.

(vi) ඔව්.

(එම කමිටුව, ශ්‍රී ලංකන් එයාර් ලයින්ස් සමාගමේ සුදුසුකම් ලත් නිලධාරින් සහ අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩලය විසින් පත් කරන බාහිර උපදේශකයන්ගෙන් සමන්විත වනු ඇත.)
