Hon. Sivagnanam Shritharan,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of principals who serve in the schools island wide on the basis of acting principals; and
(ii) out of the above principals, the number of principals who serve in the Northern and Eastern provinces?
(b) Will he also inform this House of—
(i) the reasons for not granting the salary increments, promotions and transfers to the aforesaid principals who have been appointed on acting basis;
(ii) the dates on which the salary increments, promotions and transfers will be given to the aforesaid principals;
(iii) the reasons for not absorbing the aforesaid principals to the permanent service at present, in spite of the fact that under the general procedure, the acting principals are absorbed to the permanent principals service; and
(iv) the date of absorbing the aforesaid principals to the permanent service?
(c) If not, why?
