Hon. (Dr.) Kavinda Heshan Jayawardhana,— To ask the Minister of Transport and Highways,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the names of railway stations in Sri Lanka;
(ii) whether he admits that the service of Station Masters is essential in order to maintain an ideal railway service;
(iii) of the date on which the Station Masters were recruited for the last time;
(iv) the number of the approved cadre of Station Masters in the Railway Department;
(v) the number of existing vacancies for the post of Station Master; and
(vi) of the steps that will be taken to fill the said vacancies?
(b) If not, why?
