Hon. U. K. Sumith Udukumbura,— To ask the Minister of Industries,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the measures that have been taken so far to improve the quality of life of those that are engaged in the blacksmith industry as a profession in Sri Lanka;
(ii) whether he is aware that they are making various products whilst carrying on in the industry in the face of great difficulty;
(iii) of the measures taken to promote their products in the local market;
(iv) whether he is aware that the blacksmith industry can be protected by discouraging the importation of agricultural implements; and
(v) if so, of the measures taken for it?
(b) If not, why?
