Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of Ports and Highways,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) as to when the Southern Expressway was proposed to be built;
(ii) the original cost estimated for the construction of the aforesaid Expressway; and
(iii) the total cost incurred to date on the Southern Expressway?
(b) Will he also state—
(i) the distance of the Southern Expressway in kilometers;
(ii) whether the Southern Expressway is going to be extended from Galle to Matara; and
(iii) the amount of money collected as toll payments from the opening to the end point of the Expressway?
(c) If not, why?

ගරු කථානායකතුමනි, වරාය හා මහාමාර්ග අමාත්යතුමා වෙනුවෙන් මා එම ප්රශ්නයට පිළිතුරු දෙනවා.
(අ) (i) අධිවේගී මාර්ගයක් ලෙස ඉදි කිරීමට යෝජනා වූයේ 1993 දීය.
(ආ) (i) කොට්ටාව සිට මාතර (ගොඩගම) දක්වා මුළු දුර කිලෝමීටර 125කි.
කොට්ටාව සිට පින්නදූව දක්වා කිලෝමීටර 95කි. (වැඩ අවසන් කර ඇත.)
පින්නදූව සිට මාතර දක්වා කිලෝමීටර 30කි. (ඉදි කරමින් පවතී.)
(ii) ඔව්. (දැනටමත් වැඩ ආරම්භ කර ඇත.)
(iii) රුපියල් මිලියන 950යි. (2012 ඔක්තෝබර් 31වන තෙක්)
(ඇ) පැන නොනඟී.
