Hon. Sajith Premadasa,— To ask the Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities,—
(a) Is he aware that a pledge was made under the Jana Sevana programme of the “Mahinda Chinthana-Dinawamu Sri Lanka” manifesto that freehold ownership of the houses in urban multi-storey housing schemes would be granted to their residents ?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) the year in which the granting of freehold ownership to residents of urban multi-storey housing schemes commenced; and
(ii) the number of families who have been granted freehold ownership of houses in multi storey housing schemes by now ?
(c) If not, why ?
