Hon. Charles Nirmalanathan,— To ask the Minister of Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation,—
(a) Is she aware that—
(i) the officers of the Department of Wildlife had obstructed the Divisional Secretary of Oddusuddan when arrangements had been made before the start of war to distribute a 10 acre land among the people of Thirumurikandi village situated in Mullaitivu district that had been used by them earlier as well;
(ii) houses, house foundations, wells, lavatories and playgrounds can still be seen in the aforementioned land; and
(iii) although the Divisional Secretary of Oddusuddan had made a request in writing seeking approval from the Director General of Department of Wildlife Conservation to distribute the aforesaid land among the people, the approval is yet to be granted?
(b) Will she inform this House whether measures will be taken to distribute the aforesaid land among the people?
(c) If not, why?
