Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of Ports and Highways,—
(a) Will he state for the last five years —
(i) the total container movement in the country ;
(ii) the total container movement in the country per port, per berth;
(iii) the domestic containers handled in Sri Lanka per port, per berth; and
(iv) the prognosis of container movement for the next 5 years?
(b) Will he inform this House for the last five years—
(i) the number of cargoes handled in ports of Sri Lanka;
(ii) their handling cost and the revenue earned in rupee value;
(iii) the quantity of general cargoes handled by the Ports Authority on per port, per berth basis; and
(iv) as to where most of the cargoes were originated?
(c) If not why?
