Hon. Tissa Attanayake,— To ask the Minister of Environment,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) research reports have claimed the composition of noxious air in Kandy city is much higher than the standard concentration levels;
(ii) an air resource management and monitoring system had been initiated in year 2017 to tackle the aforesaid issue with the involvement of relevant stakeholders; and
(iii) subsequently the implementation of the aforesaid programmes was suspended?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) the reasons for suspending the aforesaid programmes; and
(ii) whether measures will be taken to resume the aforesaid programmes?
(c) If not, why?
