Hon. Sanjeeva Edirimanna,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the year in which Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute was established; and
(ii) whether the objectives of establishing the aforesaid institute and its role are being fulfilled at present by that institute?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) separately on per year basis, the amounts of money that have been allocated to that institute for research activities from year 2015 to date;
(ii) whether the future plans related to the agriculture sector are prepared taking the reports issued by that institute into consideration; and
(iii) whether that institute has carried out researches in order to overcome future challenges in the agriculture sector and has issued its reports of such researches?
(c) If not, why?
