Hon. (Mrs.) Rajika Wickramasinghe,— To ask the Minister of Plantation Industries,—
(a) Will he inform this House of—
(i) the areas where areca nut is abundantly cultivated in Sri Lanka;
(ii) the amount of dried areca nut annually produced in Sri Lanka;
(iii) the amount of dried areca nut that has been exported up to now from year 2019 and separately, the amount of foreign exchange earned thereof during each year; and
(iv) the measures that has been adopted to popularize the areca nut cultivation in Sri Lanka?
(b) If not, why?
