Hon. Ishak Rahuman,— To ask the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the number of branches of Peoples’ Bank situated in Anuradhapura district;
(ii) separately, the number of companies and persons who have been granted loans worth more than Rs. 5 million by the aforesaid bank branches from 2015 to 2020;
(iii) the amount yet to be recovered from the loans that had been granted during the aforesaid period;
(iv) whether legal action has been taken to recover the aforesaid loans; and
(v) the amount that had been written off as bad debt out of the debt mentioned in (iii) above?
(b) If not, why?
