Hon. Ishak Rahuman,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the extent of land in which Maize was cultivated in Sri Lanka in 2019;
(ii) the extent of land in which Maize was cultivated in the 2020/2021 Maha season;
(iii) the volume of local Maize seeds and imported Maize seeds used to cultivate that season, separately; and
(iv) the price of a Kilogram of local Maize seeds and imported Maize seeds, separately?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) the volume of seeds required to cultivate Maize in an extent of one acre; and
(ii) the cost incurred on such seed?
(c) If not, why?
