Hon. Gamini Waleboda,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the economic impact made on Sri Lanka by the chemical fertilizer ban imposed in 2021 has been computed;
(ii) if so, the decrease in the produce of each crop such as paddy, tea, rubber, cinnamon, coconut and vegetables, separately;
(iii) whether farmers have given up farming due to the chemical fertilizer ban; and
(iv) if so, the number of farmers that have taken this action?
(b) If not, why?
