Hon. Imthiaz Bakeer Markar,— To ask the Minister of Transport and Highways,—
(a) Is he aware of the fact that—
(i) the preliminary work of the development of the School Lane of N.746-Indiriligoda Grama Niladhari Division in Beruwala Divisional Secretariat Division by carpeting, was carried out by the Kalutara office of the Western Provincial Road Development Authority;
(ii) stone chips for concrete were laid on the said road as the first stage; and
(iii) the said road is in a dilapidated condition and remains not fit for transport as the stone chips were washed away by the rains?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether steps will be taken to develop the said road by carpeting it;
(ii) if so, the date on which such work will be started;
(iii) the amount allocated for the said project; and
(iv) the individuals to be held responsible for that, if money had been wasted as a result of the matter mentioned in (a) (iii) above?
(c) If not, why?
