2059/2012: Janatha Pola, Nugegoda - Removed Traders

Hon.    (Dr.) Harsha De Silva,— To ask the Minister of Economic Development,—

(a) Will he state separately—

(i) the complete procedures adopted to remove the traders at the old Nugegoda ‘Janatha Pola’ when it was demolished and thereafter to select the traders to be given shops at the newly developed ‘Janatha Pola’ during the first week of October 2011 ;

(ii) the names of the persons responsible for each activity pertaining to removal of traders and for allocation of new stalls;

(iii) the dates on which each actions pertaining to removal of traders and allocation of stalls were taken; and

(iv) the number, names and addresses of traders removed as per a (i) and of the traders given stalls on the basis of size , stalls having structure and stalls marked on ground without structures? 

(b) Will he also state —

(i) whether there is a discrepancy between the two lists of traders removed and installed; and

(ii) if so, the action being taken to correct the anomaly?

(c) If not, why?
