Hon. R. M. Ranjith Madduma Bandara,— To ask the Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) all the stalls from number 4 to 17, out of the 17 stalls built in the new Pradesheeya Sabha building in the Buttala town, except stall number 11 which has been reserved for the stall of the Fisheries Corporation, have been given for about Rupees 20 lakhs each offer calling for tenders;
(ii) a decision was arrived at, in the monthly meeting of the Sabha not to give stalls number 1,2 and 3 through tenders since such stalls will be required for future needs of the Sabha;

(iv) the aforesaid Pradesheeya Sabha has lost a huge income owing to the above calling of tenders that was done without any transparency; and
(v) a massive financial fraud has taken place through this improper calling of tenders?
(b) Will he state whether he will make arrangements for an impartial inquiry to be initiated in relation to the above calling of tenders?
