Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) under the government programme of granting appointments to graduates, appointments as Financial Assistants, Development Assistants and Management Assistants at public institutions and government schools were granted in 2005 on supernumerary basis; and
(ii) no promotion procedure has been formulated for them up to now?
(b) Will he state—
(i) whether it is possible for those appointees serving in government schools to obtain teaching appointments to the same schools or other schools; and
(ii) if so, the procedure to be followed in that respect?
(c) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether a promotion procedure will be formulated for the aforesaid appointees; and
(ii) if so, the time frame required for that?
(d) If not, why?
