1935/2012: IMPORT OF SUB-STANDARD PETROL : COMPENSATION

Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of Petroleum Industries,—

(a) Will he state—

(i) the supplier or suppliers of inferior quality petrol and other petroleum products to Sri Lanka during the period of May–July, 2011;

(ii) as to how the Ministry is excluded from the scam of importing inferior petroleum products ;

(iii) number of consumers affected by using sub-standard petrol;

(iv) the names of the customers who made the complaints regarding the damages caused by the sub-standard petrol;

(v) the amount compensated to each affected consumer separately;

(vi) the number of filling stations of which machineries were affected by sub-standard petrol; and

(vii) as to how those filling stations are compensated?

(b) Will he inform this House whether the concerned parties, who exposed this racket of inferior quality petrol to the public would be given a handsome bonus?

(අ) (i) 2011 මැයි සිට ජූලි දක්වා කාල සීමාව තුළ ලංකාවට පෙට්‍රල් සහ වෙනත් ඛනිජ තෙල් නිෂ්පාදන සමාගම් කිහිපයකින් ගෙන්වන ලදී. ඉනොක් සමාගමෙන් ගෙන්වන ලද තෙල්වල ප්‍රමිතිය පිළිබඳ ගැටලුවක් තිබුණි.

(ii) අමාත්‍යාංශය තෙල් ආනයනය නොකරයි. ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාව ප්‍රසම්පාදන ක්‍රියාමාර්ග අනුගමනය කර තෙල් ආනයනය කරයි.

(iiii) පැමිණිලි කළ සංඛ්‍යාව 3,302කි.

(iv) කරුණාකර ඇමුණුම 01* බලන්න.

(v) කරුණාකර ඇමුණුම 02* බලන්න.

(vi) ආසන්න වශයෙන් ඉන්ධන පිරවුම්හල් 350කි.

(vii) ආපදා වූ පොම්ප ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාව මඟින් නොමිලයේ අලුත්වැඩියා කර දීමට කටයුතු කරන ලදී.

(ආ) සංස්ථාව විසින්ම පරීක්ෂා කරන ලද කමිටුවේ ප්‍රතිඵල මත කටයුතු කර ඇති බැවින් කිසිවෙකුට ප්‍රසාද දීමනා ගෙවීමේ අවශ්‍යතාව පැන නොනඟී. හානියට පත් වූ වාහනවලට වන්දි ගෙවීම සහ ආපදා වූ ඉන්ධන පොම්ප අලුත්වැඩියා කිරීම සඳහා ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාවට සිදු වූ අලාභය වෙනුවෙන් රුපියල් මිලියන 55ක මුදලක් අදාළ සමාගම විසින් ගෙවා ඇත.

(ඇ) පැන නොනඟී.
