Hon. Niroshan Perera,— To ask the Minister of Health,—
(a) Is he aware that no cold storage facility is available at the morgue of the Government Hospital in Marawila in Puttalam District?
(b) Will he inform the House—
(i) whether plans have been made to construct a cold storage facility for this Hospital;
(ii) if so, the amount estimated for the construction of this facility; and
(iii) the period of time within which the cold storage will be constructed?
(c) Will he state—
(i) the number of Judicial Medical Officers serving in that Hospital at present; and
(ii) the steps that have been taken to preserve the corpses in this Hospital, which lacks cold storage facility, as post mortem examinations are not conducted in the Hospital on public holidays or on days on which the Judicial Medical Officer is on leave?
(d) If not, why?
