1880/2012: MIDDENIYA PRIMARY SCHOOL: SHORTAGE OF BUILDINGS AND TEACHERS

Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Education,—

(a) Is he aware that—

(i) due to the shortage of buildings and teachers that exists at Middeniya Primary School administered by the Katuwana Divisional Education Office in Walasmulla Education Zone in Hambantota District, the students have faced severe difficulties; and

(ii) eventhough the authorities have been informed of the building shortage and teacher shortage at that school, no solution has been provided up to now?

(b) Will he inform this House—

(i) whether plans have been formulated to construct new buildings for that school;

(ii) if so, whether allocations have been made for that purpose; and

(iii) of the date on which the construction of the buildings will be started, if funds have been allocated?

(අ) (i) දකුණු පළාත් අධ්‍යාපන ලේකම්තුමාගේ ලිපියට අනුව ගුරු හිඟය පිළිබඳව දුෂ්කරතාවක් ‍නොමැති අතර පන්ති දෙකක් සඳහා පමණක් පන්ති කාමර අවශ්‍යව ඇත.

(ii) ගුරු හිඟය - අදාළ නොවේ. (දකුණු පළාත් අධ්‍යාපන ලේකම්ගේ ලිපියට අනුව)

(ආ) (i) මෙම වසර තුළ එසේ සැලසුම් කර නොමැත.

(ඇ) දකුණු පළාත් අධ්‍යාපන ලෙක්ම්තුමාගේ ලිපියට අනුව මෙම ඉදිකිරීම් සඳහා ප්‍රතිපාදන වෙන් කර ‍ නොමැති බවත් 2012 වසර සඳහා ලැබී ඇති ප්‍රතිපාදන ප්‍රමාණවත් නොවන බැවින් ඉදිරියේදී ලැබෙන ප්‍රතිපාදන අනුව ගොඩනැගිලි පහසුකම ලබා දීමට පියවර ගන්නා බව දන්වා ඇත.
