Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Education,—

(a) Is he aware that necessary action is being taken to close down the Halpandeniya Rathna Vidyalaya, which is situated in the Tangalle Education Zone in Hambantota District?

(b) Will he inform this House—

(i) if so, whether action will be taken to start a government factory or any other activity using the resources of the aforesaid school ;

(ii) if so, whether plans have been made for that ; and

(iii) of the activity which is expected to be commenced in the aforesaid school according to the plans mentioned above ?

ගරු නියෝජ්‍ය කථානයකතුමනි, අධ්‍යාපන ඇමතිතුමා වෙනුවෙන් මා එම ප්‍රශ්නයට පිළිතුරු දෙනවා.

(අ) තංගල්ල කලාපයේ හාල්පන්දෙණිය රත්න විද්‍යාලය දකුණු පළාත් සභාවට අයත් දකුණු පළාත් අධ්‍යාපන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව යටතේ පාලනය වන පාසලකි.

එම පාසලේ සිසුන් සංඛ්‍යාව ක්‍රමයෙන් පහත වැටී සිසුන් නොමැති වීම නිසා නිරායාසයෙන්ම පාසල දැනටමත් වැසී ඇති බව වාර්තා කොට ඇත.

(ආ) (i) පාසලක් වැසී ගොස් ඇති විට එම පාසලේ ඉඩම හා ගොඩනැඟිලි අදාළ ප්‍රදේශයේ ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් වෙත පැවරීමත්, චංචල දේපළ අනෙකුත් පාසල් වෙත ලබා දීමත් පවතින ක්‍රමවේදයයි. තවම එවැනි ක්‍රියාමාර්ගයක් ගෙන නැත.

(ii) අදාළ නොවේ.

(iii) අදාළ නොවේ.

(ඇ) පැන නොනඟී.
