1821/2012: CONSTRUCTION OF PERMANENT BRIDGE FOR DODAMWELA : FINANCIAL PROVISION

Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Ports and Highways,—

(a) Is he aware that eventhough foundation stones were laid on several occasions to construct a permanent bridge instead of the suspension bridge at Dodamwela, Haloluwa which connects the Kandy town with Harispattuwa in the Kandy District, it has not been built upto now?

(b) Will he inform this House—

(i) whether action will be taken to construct a new bridge at the above location for the convenience of the people ;

(ii) whether provisions have been allocated for this purpose ;

(iii) the amount of money thus allocated ; and

(iv) the date on which the construction activities of the bridge will be commenced?

ගරු කථානායකතුමනි, එම ප්‍රශ්නයට පිළිතුර මෙසේයි.

(අ) ඔව්.

1965 වසර, ඒ වාගේම 1979 වසර, 1992 වසර, 1996 වසර යනුවෙන් මේ ස්ථානයේ පාලම් ඉදි කිරීම සඳහා සාකච්ඡා

කර අදාළ කටයුතු ආරම්භ කර ඇත.

(ආ) (i) නව පාලමක් ඉදි කිරීම සඳහා තවම තීරණයක් ගෙන නැත.

(ii) නැත.

(iii) අදාළ නොවේ.

(iv) අදාළ නොවේ

(ඇ) මෙම ස්ථානයේ දැනට මගීන් සඳහා පාලමක් ඉදි කර ඇති අතර, එය 1939 ඉදි කරන ලද්දකි.

දැනට ගැටඹේ ඇති නව පාලම මෙයට පසු ඉදි කර ඇති අතර, එය මෙම මගී පාලම ඇති ස්ථානයේ ඉදි නො කරන ලද්දේ එම ස්ථානයට සම්බන්ධ වන ‍ජෝර්ජ් ඊ ද සිල්වා මාවත ඉතා වංගු සහිත වැඩිදියුණු කිරීමට ඉතා අපහසු මාර්ගයක් වන බැවිනි.

හල්ඔළුව ප්‍රදේශයේ වාහන ගැටඹේ ප්‍රදේශය වෙතට මෙම පාලම හරහා පැමිණීමට වඩා පේරාදෙණිය - හල්ඔළුව පාරෙන් පැමිණීම පහසු වේ.

ඒ නිසා මෙම ස්ථානයේ අධික වියදමක් දරා පාලමක් ඉදි කළ ද, එයින් සිදු වන සේවාව ඉතා අල්ප වන බැවින්, මෙහි පාලමක් ඉදි කිරීමෙන් ආර්ථික මෙන්ම සමාජයීය වශයෙන් ද සැලකිය යුතු වාසියක් අත් නොවන බව කාරුණිකව දන්වමි. එබැවින් මෙම පාලම ඉදි කිරීමට මේ වන විට පියවර නොගෙන ඇත.
