Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the non-academic staff who have been serving at schools in Moneragala and Badulla Districts for several years, have not been confirmed in service up to now;
(ii) these personnel who have been recruited in the years 2005 and 2008, have been serving up to now for meagre daily wages; and
(iii) they are facing economic difficulties as a result ?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the reasons for not confirming this group of non-academic workers in service despite the interviews have been held for confirming them;
(ii) whether measures will be taken to overcome those problems and absorb them into the permanent cadre; and
(iii) if so, the time frame required for that?
(c) If not, why?
