Hon. Tissa Attanayake,— To ask the Minister of Finance and Planning,—
(a) Will he admit that—
(i) a limited competitive examination was held to recruit to the post of Sri Lanka Planning Service II/II as per the Gazette Notification dated 31.08.2007 and a limited competitive examination was held to recruit to the said post on the supernumerary basis as per the Gazette Notification dated 29.08.2008;
(ii) the Coordinating Officers of the Divisional Secretariats engaged in planning activities passed the limited competitive examination and were recruited to the service;
(iii) the Development Coordinating Officers serving in the Divisional Secretariats who passed the limited competitive examination for the recruitment of supernumerary basis were not recruited but only the Development Officers with similar qualification and seniority were recruited to the said post; and
(iv) as a result, a serious injustice has been caused to the Development Coordinators who have been denied the opportunity of entering the Planning Service?
(b) If so, will he state—
(i) the date on which the Development Coordinators, who sat the competitive examination for the recruitment on the supernumerary basis and faced the interviews will be recruited to the above post; and
(ii) whether a promotion procedure will be drafted for Development Coordinating Officers?
(c) If not, why?
