Hon. Tissa Attanayake,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) only the war heroes who have completed a 05 year service in operational areas are entitled for 85% of the pension as per 6/2010 circular issued by the government ; and
(ii) the officers of the three armed forces serve in various areas of the country on the administrative service requirements of the relevant force and not on the personal will of their own?
(b) Will he admit that all officers of the three armed forces should be accorded equal treatment on retirement?
(c) If so, will he state whether the relevant authorities will be instructed to remove the anomaly resulting from computing the percentage of pension taking into account the service in operational areas?
(d) If not, why ?
