Hon. Wasantha Aluwihare,— To ask the Minister of Lands and Land Development,—
(a) Will he admit that —
(i) steps have been taken to distribute the crown lands situated in Hettipola Godaulpatha in Wilgamuwa Divisional Secretariat Division of Matale district ;
(ii) steps have been taken to evict the people who had been in possession of those lands since 1987, for this purpose ;
(iii) steps are being taken to allocate those lands to other persons despite the fact that aforesaid persons have been selected by a land kachcheri to be granted the relevant lands ; and
(iv) a severe injustice has been caused to those who had the possession of those lands?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) if distribution of land as mentioned above is taking place now, the basis on which it is done ;
(ii) of the details of distribution or encroachment of those crown lands ; and
(iii) whether steps will be taken to implement a fair programme to provide lands also to the persons who were in possession of those lands up to now?
(c) If not ,why?
