Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Is he aware that irregularities have taken place in the procedure undertaken to admit the students who have passed the Grade Five scholarship examination to Grade Six of Kuliyapitiya Central College, a renowned national school in the Kuliyapitiya education zone ?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the cut off mark for selecting students to be admitted to the aforesaid school, out of those who had passed the scholarship examination in 2006;
(ii) of the procedure undertaken to admit students to Grade Six of Kuliyapitiya Central College;
(iii) whether students who have not passed the scholarship examination in 2006 have been admitted to the school in contravention of the aforesaid procedure ;
(iv) if so, the number of such students ;
(v) of the basis on which those students were admitted to the school ?
(c) If not, why ?
