(a) (i) Biscuit ammonia has been identified as being used in raids on illegal liquor and vinegar factories.
(ii) Such incidents were reported in a limited number of detections and facts were reported to the courts of law, but reports were not maintained specifically on this.
(iii) The Government will not lose taxes.

(vi) That methodology is, obtaining a report of analysis by sending samples of those toddy consignments to the Government Analyst.
(vii) There is no specific name other than toddy.
(viii) It is observed that mainly water, sugar and yeast are being mixed with toddy in order to enhance the quantity and quality.
(ix) In detections, it is observed that toddy has mainly been directed to distilleries while some quantity is directed for drinking toddy.
(b) (i) Excise officers conduct Ebulliometer Tests to determine the alcohol percentage of the consignments of toddy. In addition, based on the situational circumstances, those samples drawn from toddy consignments are sent to Government Analyst for reports of analysis on their content.
(ii) Ebulliometer Test is conducted when toddy consignments are received and sending samples to the Government Analyst for report of analysis is done whenever needed.
