433/2020 Hon. Shantha Bandara,— To ask the Minister of Wildlife & Forest Conservation,— (a) Whether he admits that forests contribute immensely for the protection of eco-system of Sri Lanka? (b) Will he inform this House— (i) of the current forest density of Sri Lanka as a percentage; (ii) of the forest density Sri Lanka should have; and (iii) whether a programme has been prepared to fulfill the required forest density if it is unavailable? (c) If not, why?
