424/2020 Hon. (Mrs.) Rohini Kumari Wijerathna,— To ask the Minister of Transport,— (a) Will he inform this House— (i) whether a higher amount of compensation will not have to be paid owing to constructing the Kurunegala–Habarana railway line through lands with a higher economic value in Beligamuwa-Galewela-Dambulla section subsequent to the third Surveying which was carried out to decide the specific route; and (ii) whether the damages would not be less and whether a lesser amount of compensation will not have to be paid if it is decided to construct the above railway line as per the first surveying, instead of deciding to construct this railway line based on the third Surveying constructing the above railway line? (b) If not, why?
