Hon. Sujith Perera,— To ask the Minister of Irrigation,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether there are plans to construct a tank called ‘Wee Oya’ in Yatiyanthota Divisional Secretariat area of Kegalle district; and
(ii) if so, the objectives of constructing the said tank are?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) of the number of families who will be displaced due to the construction of the tank;
(ii) of the measure that will be taken to resettle the displaced families;
(iii) of the mechanism that will be followed to compensate persons, displaced due to the project, for their houses and lands; and
(iv) of the future measures that will be taken regarding people who will be displaced?
(c) If not, why?
