350/2020 Hon. Mujibur Rahuman,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs and Minister of Urban Development & Housing Will he state— the number of vacancies that are existing at present in the post of Assistant Superintendent of Police; whether there are vacancies in the posts ranging from the post of Police Constable to the post of Chief Inspector of Police, and from the post of Assistant Superintendent of Police to the post of Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police; the methodology that was adopted in making timely promotions to those posts recently; whether the approved cadre in the aforesaid posts was taken into consideration when making promotions to those posts; when making timely promotions recently to cover the duties in the posts of Senior Superintendent of Police and Deputy Inspector General of Police, the methodology that was adopted in giving promotions in excess of the approved cadre in those posts to officers who have completed a period of service of two and a half years; and the reasons for not following the same procedure in (v) above when giving timely promotions to officers from the post of Chief Inspector of Police to the post of Assistant Superintendent of Police? If not, why?
